William Ashley’s Holiday Get Away

Happy Holidays! It’s the time of year when we either relish the cold weather or scatter to the ends of the earth in search of warmer horizons. To have a successful holiday, all you need is a little preparation and a dab of wonder. With this in mind, we are thoroughly excited to launch our Holiday Gift Guide 2016 and to showcase our Bloor Street windows, inviting you on a trip around the world, William Ashley style!

Oh Canada! Whether you live in the G.T.A or you are visiting from far-flung lands, start your Holiday with us and see what the buzz is about, perusing our world-class windows.

Vive La France Iconic French brands such as Lalique, Christofle and Le Creuset have been built on a serious dedication to provenance, a respect for history and an unrelenting passion to design the future. Whether it is the new canister from Christofle, the addition of the soft pink Bon Bon colour from Le Creuset or the exquisite workmanship of the Mossi amber vase by Lalique, our trip to France is destined to be a success.

Spain By Train Let’s hop the fast train to Spain, where we discover the true craftsmanship in the making of Lladro figurines. Delight your friends and family by recounting your visit to the Lladro village. Yes, like Santa’s workshop, Lladro comes complete with a holiday hamlet, Tavernes Blanques, teaming with artisan elves.

Italian By Design Cruise along the Mediterranean to Italy, destination Crusinalo, where the Circus has come to town. Alessi has just launched its newest collection. Revel at the wonder of Marcel Wanders’ creativity, turning simple objects into works of art. Read our exclusive interview, The Wonder of Wanders, here.

From Tanzania To South Africa Encounter wild and exotic creatures on safari. These sparkling ornaments by L’Objet are worth the expedition. Light a luxurious candle while admiring the Serengeti from the Baobab collection, mouth blown  containers made in Belgium with organic wax and Egyptian cotton wicks, inspired by the countryside of Tanzania.

The heart of South Africa is found through it’s people. That is why Wonki Ware pottery is so dear to our us. A core value of Wonki Ware is the goal of creating opportunities for disadvantaged people in the local community. Over sixty people who were previously unemployed have found meaningful work at Wonki Ware, having been taught the necessary skills to become accomplished potters. In turn, these artisans are now training others in the art of creating Wonki Ware.

From our family to yours, William Ashley wishes you a very happy holiday! Jackie Chiesa, President
